Come let us reason! Do you really know God? What is your understanding of him? What makes God, God? Do we really believe in God?

When discussions about God arise, two main religions come to mind, Christians and Muslims. I can only speak from a Christian perspective, so I ask:

* Does the devil have any power over anyone?

* Can the devil delay, impede or change the will of God?

* Can any force of darkness change what God has ordained?

* Can you as an individual change, impede or delay the will of God?

* If there is a God, why does he permit the atrocities that exist?

* What is freewill? Can freewill change the will of God?

* Is it possible for anyone to walk against the will of God?

Come share your understanding and enlighten us or forever hold your peace!

But I wonder...are you scared to share your true understanding and beliefs? Do you really know what you believe in?

What make God God is that He is the author and finisher of everything. Whom without Him nothing is made or exist.  He is the only Object of worship as far as the earth goes on.

No man, woman or any cripting thing on , beneath or above the earth can impede or change what God has ordained talkless of forces of darkness. Remember the Bible says at the Mentioning of His name every thing (name them) must bow  down. When He says yes nobody can say no to His orders.

But from Christian perspective the only thing that can make God to change His will against what He ordained is when one SIN against God. Remember the story of Lot in Sodom & Gomorah and the incident that took place when the people sinned against God. He brought destruction upon them.

I don't think that there is any thing that can alter the will of God except He decides to do so.
If He overlooks our sins, His "will" will still not be altered but when He considers the sins of man He can do otherwise.

Thanks for responding to my post, from where I stand and the little understanding God has given me, your response shows you are on the right track and that you have a good grasp about what you believe in.

My Global Chairman!

As I reply di Jamo Bros post finish na im I come see dis one. Make person try reply your questions one by one; na im be dis o. All my answer, I go try make am according to Bible wey dem teach me for Sunday School dat time. I go hope say you go like am:

Bros Odin, thanks for taking the time to respond. Not everyone has the courage to voice their true opinions and beliefs, let alone make a stand for what they believe in.  I applaud this in you.

We are in agreement. It is my belief and understanding that the devil is powerless, just like we are, in relation to God. Or looking at it from a different point of view, what ever powers we have as human beings (either to create or destroy), the devil, having similar powers is unable to use his powers in any way he sees fit. His first thought and desire is always to wreck havoc, but in as much as we all are on a leash, none of us, not even the devil can do other than what God gives the ability to do.

* Can the devil delay, impede or change the will of God? E be like o. I remember dat time wey dem tell Daniel (shey na Daniel?) for inside bible say dem for don answer him prayer, but sha say the Prince of Persia, or make we call am PoP (apologies to our bros and sis for Iran o) dey block; dem say na Devil be PoP.

I see your point of view and follow your line of thought, but based on my first response above, I believe that nothing delays or impedes God's will. The only thing that happens is a play of situations, circumstances and occurrences all orchestrated by God to the fulfillment of he will. We all are his puppets and he the ultimate master puppeteer.

* Can any force of darkness change what God has ordained? See directly above. To change patapata, hmnnn; but to delay, e fit delay am small. But as e be say we be flesh and blood, di time scale wey Baba God dey take carry work fit different from our own o; I hear say 1000 years for God side be like 1 day. Na wah o. Dat means say, if angel Gabriel say "I dey come now now in 1 hour", dat one fit pass 40 years o.

 :rotlmao: :rotlmao: :rotlmao:

See my response above. But in addition, Christ said no man can receive anything except he receives such from above, that is to say whatever ability anyone has, is given them by God. And if God gives you the ability to do something or anything, he has a purpose or design in mind. Therefore, the ability of any force or creation of God, or my ability or yours to do something or anything does not prevent or delay what God has ordained. It goes hand in hand with fulfilling his will according to his grand design.

*Can you as an individual change, impede or delay the will of God? e get time wey God wan vex destroy all di children of Israel after dem commot Egypt; Godvex so tey, He talk am to Moses. Na im Moses come tell God to cool down. Moses carry better thinking follow talk with God; God come cool down chanage him mind; even God fit change him mind.

Once again, my response is related to the one above.

* If there is a God, why does he permit the atrocities that exist? Di one, even me maself no know o! See as Hurricane Ike take vex hammer people; ahn ahn, God for fit try use steering carry Ike for inside Ocean, eh? Even Ike and Ocean, na God get dem, no be so? So dis one, e hard small; me sef, I no sabi. If you know Big Bros, make you helep open our brain o.

Odin my bros, I don't know much, but the little I know I'll share. Consider Denzil Washington, we all know he's an actor. He could be killed in one film today, maimed in another or even beheaded!  These are all parts he played in those films, to the end that he portrays a certain image with the intent of providing a specific message about the character being played, which includes circumstances/occurrences surrounding certain behaviour and the consequences of various actions. In a nutshell, every action brings about a reaction and we the viewers get a birds' eye.

Our bird's eye view affords us the pleasure of knowing the consequences of various actions and how they can either turn out positively or negatively, depending on if it is perceived correctly for what it is or misunderstood or misconstrued, leading to seriously negative reactions.

Where real life is concerned, God is the film director/producer/screen writer. We all are his actors. He uses our individual situations/circumstances to teach us and others, about himself and life. He uses our ups and downs, strengths and weaknesses to make us living examples of his will, purpose and design.

The comparison here between films and real life is that to the film director and actors the occurrences and "life changing incidents" portrayed are temporary in nature. This is how we are supposed to see the lives we currently live. We all are God's actors and actress, hence the characters we currently play are temporary and not permanent as we would all like it to be. This would be equal to Denzil Washington wanting to remain a character he plays in a film! Our true existence is spiritual, while our physical existence is temporary!

If 10 million people should lose their lives today, it would mean nothing to God. To him our "death" is not real or permanent!

All the calamities we experience are only real in the context that we "become" the part we each play. If the part we each play was not somehow real to us, it would be hard for the characters we play to be believable either to ourselves or others. If we are not convincing then there would be nothing to learn from each other.

* What is freewill? Can freewill change the will of God? Dem get plenty theory wey follow free will (FW). But sha as for di one wey follow God and Church and Religion direct, e be like say Bible make am say God fit enter inside wetin person wan do. For inside Bible, God dey do dis one well well.

Generally speaking, freewill to me is our ability to choose our paths in life. But experience and God's grace has taught me that our freewill has limitations and confines! Our freedom of choice and movement is limited by the length of our individual "leash" as given and ordained by God. We can go anywhere we choose and as far as we want as long as we don't go beyond our leash. The moment we try to venture beyond our given bounds, we meet with resistance/opposition in that direction, which leads us into realizing that we have other options available other than the one we are currently experiencing problems in.

The only thing to bear in mind is that many, if not most of us do not realize that we are on a leash. But consider this, if all God's creation were not on a "leash" Chaos would ensue and God would not be Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient. God controls every single occurrence in existence. Within the confines God has created for each of us, he is aware of every possibility that could and will possibly ensue and he has catered for each eventuality to the very last minute detail.

Within the various realms of possibilities each of our individual situation presents and is possible, God ensure that we always arrive at his chosen destination. This is a foregone conclusion.

* Is it possible for anyone to walk against the will of God? Bros, dis question get plenty trick o. Because me I no think say person like Hitler work according to will of God. abi, how you see am?

All the questions I presented are as a result of arguments/issued raised by other people through my discussions/conversations with them. They always had different ways to explain why the devil is powerful and able to overturn the will of God. I don't believe in such a god that can be so handicapped by forces or beings lesser than himself, yet he still remains god!!

Simply put, as explained through the various explanations above, NOTHING, walks against the will of God.

As for Hitler, he was only fulfilling the will of God and not working against it. When the Jews cursed themselves saying let the blood of Christ be on their head and on the head of their children and great grand-children, little did they know what they signed up for! After all God himself said he would visit the sin of those he considers guilty, upon them, their children's children to the third and fourth generations!

On the one hand the Jews cursed themselves and their generations to come, and God through them show us the power in the spoken word. God choose to use the Jews as an example to the rest of the world. He therefore raised Hitler for that self same purpose. These are the same Jews who choose to believe still this very day that Christ did not come in the flesh, neither is he (God) come in the flesh as the son of God.
